Notes

Independents: The vote shown for independents at this Queensland Legislative Assembly election is the sum of votes cast for all candidates who ran for office without a registered party name. There were 46 such candidates, four of whom were elected: Elizabeth Cunningham (electoral district of Gladstone), Christopher Foley (electoral district of Maryborough); Dorothy Pratt (electoral district of Nanango); and Peter Wellington (electoral district of Nicklin).

One Nation and Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party: Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party made a dramatic entry to Queensland politics at the Queensland Legislative Assembly election of 1998 but experienced a series of major organizational changes and the decline of its vote share. The party had been reconstituted several times and by this election (2006) was registered as One Nation and had few ties with Pauline Hanson.
