Notes

Australian Greens and Greens WA: Before this election (2004), the Green Party in Western Australia agreed to field candidates in federal elections under the label of Australian Greens to match the name used in other states, rather than 'Greens WA' the name used in previous federal elections. The label 'Greens WA' would continue to be used for Western Australian state elections. At the previous House of Representatives election in 2001, the Greens WA had won 64,939 votes in Western Australia (5.99 percent of the statewide vote).

One Nation and Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party: The name of Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party was changed to One Nation in some states. The original party name has been maintained in this database at this election to permit comparison over time and between states.
