Election watch for 2012

Only one lower house general election was held in 2011 (New South Wales March 2011) in comparison with the four held in 2010: South Australia March 2010, Tasmania March 2010, the Commonwealth August 2010, and Victoria November 2010.

But 2012 will be a busy year with assembly elections due for both the ACT and the NT as well as Queensland and, late in 2012 or early 2013, Western Australia. And, of course, there is always the possibility of an unscheduled election to keep election watchers on their toes!
